Kyoto Prefectural University, with its origins in Kyoto Prefectural Agricultural School and Kyoto Prefectural Women’s College, is a university with a history of nearly 130 years. It has three faculties and three graduate schools (from April 2024, it will have five faculties: Letters, Public Policy, Agricultural and Food Sciences, Science and Technology, and Environmental Sciences, and four graduate schools: Letters, Public Policy, Life and Environmental Sciences, and Degree Program for Dietary Culture). Along with Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, it operates as the Kyoto Prefectural Public University Corporation, with a one-corporation and two-university system. The university is actively working to solve regional issues and is striving for further development as a base of knowledge in Kyoto Prefecture.
